Looks so much better with the 61 grille compared to the 62 "electric razor"! She's looking better everyday.

How it began, 1963.

When I was in my junior year of high school, I got my first job after school working for a land abstract company delivering legal documents. The company car was a 1962 Dodge Lancer of the same color. I got my first ever speeding ticket in that car.

Auction, November 2007

Now I never was one for Chrysler Corporation automobiles but I always had a warm spot in my heart for the Dodge Lancer. Even back in its day it would always attract attention and get the thumbs up. I was attending a car auction in 2007. As I was cruising the lot looking at the cars waiting for the block, there it was! I'm not going to bore you with the details but if a friend of mine hadn't been in the back of the auction tent with a cooler full of beer, I wouldn't be owning this car today! No regrets.

I had considered a radical custom at one time (Photoshop Chop)but decided to go with the "what were they thinking?" stock look.

Chopped three inches. It needs to be chopped but $$$$$.

Photoshoped Camaro grille? Maybe.

This car has some great body lines. The 61 Lancer had a really nice grille and if I ever found one I would change it out. The "62" sorta looks like an old electric shaver now. The interior is original but fragile. I put my finger through the seat cover just climbing in. The 225 cubic inch "slant 6" runs real strong but it could use a little more power. This engine is famous for being able to run hard all day. The push button automatic is beginning to give me shifting problems. This was the main reason for this make over.
